Home / Roof types

Materials

Three roofs we install. One that fits your house.

We do not push the most expensive option. The right roof depends on the house, how long you plan to stay and what the structure can carry.

$$$

Architectural shingles

The most common roof in North Texas. Thicker and more dimensional than old three-tab shingles, available in impact-rated versions.

Good fit if you want a proven roof at a sensible price.

Demo guide: $450 to $650 per square, installed

$$$

Standing seam metal

Long panels with raised seams and hidden fasteners. Reflects more summer heat and sheds hail debris and pine needles easily.

Good fit if you plan to stay in the house for a long time.

Demo guide: $1,000 to $1,500 per square, installed

$$$

Concrete tile

Heavy, quiet in rain and at home on Spanish and Mediterranean style houses. Needs a structure that can carry the weight.

Good fit if the house was built for tile already.

Demo guide: $900 to $1,300 per square, installed

Weathered old roof around a dormer window

Older homes

Wood shakes and older roofs.

We repair wood shake and older roofs where it still makes sense, and tell you plainly when it does not. Many older homes in Tarrant County still have two layers of shingles; we always tear off to the deck.
